While domain investing is a digital industry, nothing beats in-person meetups for building your knowledge and network, especially when those in-person meetups offer access to some of the best in the business. On May 7, GoDaddy welcomes you to our Tempe HQ Domain Investor meetup! Address and all pertinent information is included in the RSVP here https://forms.gle/9inFzCqku7Zgy49e7

Domain Academy is hosting a free, in-person meetup at GoDaddy’s Tempe, Arizona office. With plenty of time to network and catch up with or get to know other domain investors plus up to forty seats spread across three focused training tracks. Each one will be led by GoDaddy team members who know this space in serious depth.

What the Afternoon Looks Like

You’ll arrive at 3pm for an office tour, snacks, and networking with other investors. At 4pm, you’ll choose one of three breakout tracks. Each one is led by a different team and goes deep on a different part of the domain investment workflow. After the sessions wrap, the evening is yours to continue the conversations over dinner in Tempe.

Track 1: Auctions API Access and Setup

Led by: The Premier Services team, Joe Styler, and GoDaddy Auctions engineer Mihai Nicolae

The hands-on session with the GoDaddy Auctions API is the centerpiece. Mihai Nicolae, one of the engineers behind the Auctions platform, will walk you through getting the API setup for auctions and getting you access to the bidding and purchase APIs. We will make sure you understand the basic calls and give out the documentation needed so you can get started automating purchase workflows using the API directly. If you’ve been doing auction research manually, or relying on browser tabs and spreadsheets, this is a chance to build something that works while you sleep. And you’ll be doing it with the engineer who can answer the edge-case questions that documentation can’t.

Best for: Investors focused on acquisition strategy who want to automate and scale their buying process.

Track 2: Listing and Selling on Afternic

Led by: Adam Ramsdell, Afternic domain sales Dr.

Expert Afternic account manager Adam Ramsdell will run a hands-on masterclass covering how to list domains for maximum exposure on Afternic, best practices for pricing and Lease to Own, and a real-time walkthrough of getting your listings fully optimized across the board.

Bring your own portfolio questions. Whether you’ve got 50 domains listed or 50,000, Adam can show you where the gaps are and how to close them in real time.

Best for: Sellers who want to make sure every listing is working as hard as it can across Afternic’s distribution network.

Track 3: DomainNames.com

Led by: Tom McCarthy, DomainNames.com

Tom McCarthy will cover what DomainNames.com is, what sets it apart for high-value domains, and what the brokerage and marketing teams are doing to bring awareness to listings. If you own premium names and have wondered whether DomainNames.com is the right channel for them, this is a direct conversation with the person who runs it.

Best for: Owners of high-value domains who want to understand the brokerage and marketing approach behind DomainNames.com.

Why This One Is Worth the Trip

Thirty people in a room with the engineers and product leads who build the tools you use to run your business. That access doesn’t happen at a conference panel. Conference panels give you 45 minutes, a moderator, and polished talking points. This gives you three hours with the actual builders, in a small enough group that your specific questions get answered.

The Auctions API session alone is worth the afternoon. Programmatic access to GoDaddy Auctions is a competitive edge that most investors haven’t explored yet, and learning it directly from the engineer who works on the platform daily is not something you’ll find in a tutorial.

Forty spots, and they’re filling up. Once we hit capacity, that’s it.
